Playwright/performer Eric Bogosian will make his Broadway debut as an actor in Manhattan Theatre Club’s upcoming production of Donald Margulies’ Time Stands Still, joining previously announced stars Laura Linney, Brian d’Arcy James and Alicia Silverstone. The play will begin previews at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on January 5, 2010, and open on January 28, directed by Daniel Sullivan.
Time Stands Still centers on Sarah (Linney) and James (James), a photographer and journalist who have been together for nine years and share a passion for documenting the realities of war. But when injuries force them to return home to New York, the adventurous couple confronts the prospect of a more conventional life. Bogosian will play Richard, Sarah’s photo editor, with Silverstone as his much younger girlfriend, Mandy.
Best known for starring in the debut production of his acclaimed play Talk Radio, Bogosian is also the author of subUrbia and the solo shows Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll; Pounding Nails in the Floor with My Forehead and Wake Up and Smell the Coffee. As an actor, he is a regular on Law & Order: Criminal Intent and has appeared off-Broadway in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot and The Exonerated. Bogosian is the author of three novels and a novella.
Time Stands Still debuted at L.A.’s Geffen Playhouse in February 2009 with a cast that included Silverstone, Anna Gunn, David Harbour and Robin Thomas.
